Mentally Speaking

This daily podcast is the perfect start to your day, with a daily mantra and take-aways that are not only useful but easy to remember. Plus lots of analogies or "verbal visuals" that are relatable and easy to follow. These are strategies I've developed and used successfully for 27yrs to help people from all walks of life overcome depression, anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, parenting issues, grief, stress and more. Just as important, you will gain a better understanding of yourself as you discover what is means to be human. About me: I have 30 years combined clinical, military, political and teaching experience. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, obtained in 1987 from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a master's in Social Work, obtained in 1993 from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. I've worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, community agencies, and hospitals. I've also taught psychology at the college level and have held several legislative positions. But what I'm most proudest of is my service as a US Army Social Work Officer, including a deployment to Afghanistan, from 2008-2010, where I served as the Executive Officer (XO) for the Medical Command for all of Afghanistan. I currently have a full-time private practice and serve on the School Safety Advisory Committee for my county's Board of Education.
